About MTN Weekend Plan
Unlike the Glo Weekend Plan, the MTN network doesn’t have an official weekend data plan.
Although, formerly, MTN has a form of weekend data plan that comes in a bonus after subscribing to a specified data bundle on your MTN line. This weekend data bonus is called “MTN WowWeekend”.
This special offer was usually sent to qualified users via SMS. Below are some examples.
- Special offer! Buy 100MB for N200 and get 500MB FREE data. Dial *131*113# to activate. Dial *131*4# to view the data bonus. Bonus Valid for 24 hrs.
- Special offer! Buy 750MB for N500 and get 3.75GB FREE data. Dial *131*103# to activate. Dial *131*4# to view the data bonus. Bonus Valid till Sunday 11:59 pm.
However, MTN has discontinued these special offers, and users are no longer getting this SMS.
Moving forward, the fact that there isn’t an official weekend data bundle on the MTN network doesn’t mean there aren’t other interesting data plans for MTN users to enjoy on weekends.

How to Buy MTN Weekend Plans
Technically speaking, there are weekend plans on MTN, but there are still awesome data plans that serve as a replacement for the MTN weekend plan.
Just like the Airtel Weekend Plan, this plan consists of two bundles. One last for just 24 hours (in other words Saturday only), while the other lasts 2 days (Saturday and Sunday).
They can be activated using the code below.
MTN Weekend Data Plan Code
Like I said above, this plan comes in two types. One costs N350 and the other cost N500. Follow the steps below to subscribe to any of your choices.
MTN 1GB for N350
This MTN weekend data plan is valid for just a day (24 hours), it costs N350, and you’ll get 1GB worth of data.
- It can be activated by simply dialing *131*155#.
Please, ensure you have an airtime balance of N350 on the main balance of your MTN line for this code to work.
MTN 2GB for N500
This MTN weekend plan is valid for 2 days (Saturday and Sunday), and you’ll get 2GB of data for just N500.
- Simply dial *131*154# to activate this plan.
Make sure you have a sufficient airtime balance before you dial this code.

How to Use MTN Weekend Bundle
Since the MTN weekend plans are not like normal weekend plan, the way to use them is quite different.
You can subscribe to this MTN data plan on Saturday morning and start using it till Sunday and even beyond. This is because it is just a regular data plan that is very cheap. So, it works like the regular data plans.
Just since you intended in using it during the weekend, you can subscribe to it on weekends.
