Adobe Flash Player is a Lightweight plug-in for browsers used for streaming video, audio and other multimedia content on Adobe Flash sites and platforms. For Chrome users, there is no need to install Adobe Flash as it comes with its own version called NPAPI pre-installed. Though you may have other network applications forcing you to install it.

Install Adobe Flash Player on Linux Mint 19 – Firefox users

The packages required are available on official repositories for Linux Mint 19. Just run the commands below to have them installed.

sudo apt install adobe-flashplugin

We can also install a browser-plugin-freshplayer-pepperflash package by running:

sudo apt-get -y install browser-plugin-freshplayer-pepperflash

Flash Player for Chromium users

Chromium users will need to use Pepper Flash Player which is maintained by Google and is newer than Adobe Flash Player. Install Pepper Flash on Linux Mint 19 using the commands below.

sudo apt-get -y install pepperflashplugin-nonfree

To update Pepper Flash Player, use:

sudo update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --install

After the installation of Pepper Flash Player on Linux Mint 19, make sure Flash is allowed to run in:

chrome://settings/content/flash

You now have Adobe Flash Player installed on your Linux Mint workstation.
