Here is a step-by-step guide on how to transfer airtime from Airtel to MTN using the TingTel app:
- Download the TingTel app from Google Play Store.
- Register an account using the number you want to transfer airtime from. Tip: Use your line’s transfer pin as your TingTel pin while creating an account.
- Log in to your account and click on the “Transfer Airtime” option.

As part of our research for this guide, we called Airtel’s customer care line. The representative confirmed that the USSD code for transferring airtime to another network is not functional.
Additionally, they explained that it is only possible to transfer airtime from Airtel to Airtel and not to other networks like MTN.
Furthermore, they clarified that customer care agents are not able to initiate airtime transfer transactions. This can only be done by the sender themselves, from one Airtel number to another.
Therefore, it is not possible for Airtel customer care to assist with transferring airtime from Airtel to MTN. This question cannot be resolved by Airtel’s customer care as it is not within their capabilities.
4. Using the Airtel Self-Service Website & App
While Airtel self-service and the “My Airtel” mobile app offer users more control over their accounts and various features, they do not provide an option to transfer airtime to MTN or other networks. In other words, it is not possible to send airtime from Airtel to MTN using any of these platforms.
