4. Select any server of your choice from the servers list.

6. You can see if the VPN is working correctly by using Astrill’s “What is my IP” tool. See if the IP it shows is your actual IP or a new one. If the IP is changed, it means that your connection is secure.

How to Setup WireGuard on Linux

1. Open Linux Terminal and execute the following command:

sudo apt install wireguard

2. Login to your Astrill account on the official website.
3. Now head over to “VPN Services” tab and open “WireGuard configurations”.
4. Download the WireGuard configuration file for your desired server.
5. Now open Linux Terminal and type this command: “wg-quick up Downloads/wg0.conf”. This will activate WireGuard. 

How to Setup Astrill with OpenVPN Client on Linux

1. To install and OpenVPN client on Linux, enter the following syntax in the terminal:

sudo apt-get install openvpn

2. Now, enter your password to begin installation. 
3. To see if OpenVPN has been installed, enter this syntax in the terminal: openvpn –version.
4. Now Login to your Astrill account on their website and download a certificate for OpenVPN with configuration files. 
5. You can do so by clicking on Members, Sign-in to your account, then click VPN Services, and then click on OpenVPN certificates generation.
6. Enter this description for New Certificate: Linux-CLI-OpenVPN.
7. Now click on Add to my certificates button and download the OpenVPN configuration files.
8. Run the OpenVPN client with the downloaded client config file.

For Disconnecting

In order to disconnect/deactivate WireGuard, you can use the following command in Linux terminal:

wg-quick down Downloads/wg0.conf
