Applicants from Nigeria are rarely granted residence permits from the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) for studying bachelor’s programmes in Norway.

UDI is responsible for processing applications from foreign nationals who wish to visit or live in Norway.

• Senior School Certificate (awarded either by the West African Examinations Council or the National Examinations Council) in at least 6 subjects where English, Mathematics and one subject in Science (either Biology, Chemistry or Physics) must be passed + 1-year university education 
• West African Senior School Certificate (awarded either by the West African Examinations Council in at least 6 subjects where English, Mathematics and one subject in Science (either Biology, Chemistry or Physics) must be passed + 1-year university education 
• West African Examinations Council, General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O Level) + 1-year university education 
• West African Examinations Council, General Certificate of Education Ordinary (GCE O Level) + West African Examinations Council Higher, General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A level) with 3 A levels

Please note that National Diploma and Higher National Diploma are not regarded as university education unless incorporated into a bachelor’s degree.

Østfold University College

Østfold University College in Norway has around 100 studies taught in new and modern premises.

Tuition Fees

Universities of applied sciences and universities in Finland charge Bachelor’s and Master’s level students a tuition fee for studying in languages other than Finnish or Swedish from 1.8.2017 onwards. EU/EEA and Swiss citizens are not charged the fee*.

The tuition fee at Diak is €4000 per academic year in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Social Services, €5000 per academic year in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Health Care, Nursing, and €6000 per academic year for the Master’s degree programmes.

• If individuals or their family members are holding similar rights as EU citizens, they will not be charged the tuition fee. This exemption will also apply to individuals who have an EU Blue Card as stated in the Aliens Act, a continuous or permanent residence permit or a long-term resident’s EC residence permit.
