Regent University of Science and Technology

Location: Accra

This University is one of the cheapest universities in Ghana for Nigerians.

Located in Accra, the heart of Ghana, the University’s vision is to become a centre of excellence in raising highly skilful and God-fearing leaders to function as change agents in their various spheres of life.

Regent University of Science and Technology was registered in 2003 but became accredited in 2004.

Students, however, started to receive lectures in 2005 at Trinity Campus, Mataheko. Amazingly,

Regent has been ranked the third-best University in Ghana and the best private University in Ghana by the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.

The University runs four schools which include the following;

  • School of Business
  • Leadership and Legal Studies (SBLL)
  • Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences(FAS)
  • Faculty of Engineering
  • Computing and Allied Sciences (FECAS).

Also, the School of Research and Graduate Studies offers four postgraduate degree programs, which include a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Statistics, Master of Divinity, and Master of Theology.

There are no general fees at Regent as the university fees depend on the student’s course and status (fresher or returning student). However, the total fees range from GHC 1,353 – GHC 2,509.

Sikkim Manipal University

    Location: Accra

    Sikkim Manipal University is one! It is an Indian private university in Accra established in 2007.

    Their vision is to transform the lives of its student through exemplary education and training.

    Sikkim Manipal offers quality education to its students at an affordable cost.

    They offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various departments, which include the

    • Department of IT
    • Department of Journalism
    • Mass Communication
    • Department of Management.

    Although the University is not as prestigious as other universities in Ghana, it is still a good choice for anyone seeking to study in Ghana without breaking the bank.

    The tuition fees for students are based on the programme taken by the student.

    However, the estimated fee for an academic session is about GHC 23,441.

    Pentecost University College

      Location: Accra

      Pentecost University is one of the best universities in Ghana that offers quality education.

      Established in 2003, the institution runs many professional programs designed to empower students and give them the best.

      Over the years, the university has constantly churned out top students making waves in various industries.

      The university is owned by the church of Pentecost, which may be one reason it is affordable.

      Pentecost University has five faculties:

      • Faculty of Business Administration
      • Faculty of Engineering Science and Computing
      • School of Theology
      • Mission and Leadership (STML)
      • Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences
      • Faculty of Law.

      The University has also received numerous awards, which include the most innovative private university of the year and the Most Vibrant Private University on Digital Media, to name a few.

      As earlier noted, the University’s fees are cheap, and students must pay half of the tuition fees (including other fees such as technology user fees, academic user fees, etc.) at the beginning of the semester to register online.

      Central University

        Location: Accra

        Formed by the International Central Gospel Church in Ghana, Central University boasts the most prominent private Christian University in Ghana.

        The University started as Central Bible College and was formed in 1988.

        They offer affordable education, but this does not reduce the educational standard of the University, as they are known for their quality.

        This University is a go-to for Christian students as they do not joke with Biblical principles.

        Their core values are Faith, Integrity, and Excellence.

        The University has eight faculties which include the following;

        • School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS)
        • Central Business School (CBS)
        • School of Architecture and Design (SADe)

          It is affiliated with the University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University.

              Kings University College was founded in 2009 and accredited in 2010.

              It is one of the best private universities in Ghana and is affiliated with the University of Cape Coast.

              The University delivers 27 academic programs at one school and three faculties, including the following faculties;

              • Faculty of Law
              • Governance and International Relations
